When Sunday April 20 Where Aberfoyle The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign invites willing walkers to take part. This year there is a choice of distance - 10K, or the (slightly) tougher 10 miles. Walk 1 (10 miles) leaves Aberfoyle at 10.30 and heads north, following cycle route 7, climbing and revealing the beautiful landscape of the Trossachs in springtime, eventually merging with Walk 2 (10 kilometres), starting at 1pm, along the scenic 3 Lochs Forest Drive, finishing at Brig O’Turk. It’s suitable for infant buggies, powered wheelchairs and pets as well as walkers. The event is open to all ages – children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult – and dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. At the end of the route, refreshments will be provided and transport will be available back to the start. First aid and other support will be available at all times. One condition of taking part is that tartan must be worn - anything from a ribbon to a picnic rug is acceptable! Participants are asked to pledge to raise at least £25. There is a small charge for registration.
MDC branded prizes are on offer, depending on how much you raise: £30 to receive a water bottle; £50 to receive a sports towel; £100 for a polo shirt and £250 for a cosy fleece! To register, contact Margaret Tooth of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, tel 01324 810958, or email
